Job summary
The Best Start for Life programme is a partnership between organisations, including Leicester City Council, the NHS, and the voluntary sector. It looks to support parents and carers, so they can nurture their babies and children, improving health and education outcomes for all. It aims to provide additional support through pregnancy to a childs second birthday, offering health and social interventions to give every child the best opportunities to thrive.
As part of this programme Healthy Together (NHS provider of health visiting and school nursing services in Leicester) have an exciting opportunity to expand their current workforce.

If so, you may be the very person we are looking for. We have vacancies for Healthy Child Programme Practitioners (community nursery nurse) in Leicester. You will have a suitable qualification such as NNEB, Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE) or NVQ Child Care Level 3 Qualification as well as a variety of experience working with children. You will need to be a driver and have access to your own transport. Public transport will not be suitable to fulfil this role.

Main duties of the job
Working within the Health Visiting team you will:
Deliver the universal Healthy Child Programme (HCP) at 1012 month and 2 year development reviews, carry out growth measurements and complete review assessments as delegated by the Public Health Nurse-Health Visitor.
Promote breast feeding by offering advice, working with peer supporters. Also promote nutrition, healthy weight and obesity prevention in group settings or provide 1 to 1 follow up advice.
Deliver defined delegated packages of care regarding sleep and behaviour promoting positive parenting including use of the Solihull approach.
Deliver Healthy Bladder Healthy Bowel workshops and group work in line with local identified need.
Lead and coordinate Public Health programmes for identified neighbourhoods, for example the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).
Promote digital health information, including signposting to the local Healthy Together public health websites and to Chat Health, the confidential text messaging service.
Participate in clinical supervision sessions and actively access safeguarding supervision.
