Job summary
Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Consultant Psychological Therapist: We are looking for a highly experienced psychological professional with excellent leadership, clinical, organisational and project management skills to further develop and lead the psychological therapies Psychosis Pathway within the Mental Health Directorate. You will be part of a wider psychology and psychological therapies leadership team within an organisation that values and embraces psychological approaches and psychological professions.
Your role will be to lead this established pathway, which promotes recovery-oriented and evidence-based approaches for people presenting with psychosis within the Directorate of Mental Health and across the wider healthcare system.
You will also provide direct line management to the psychological staff who work directly into this pathway (see organisational chart) and be based with one of these services according to service need.
As part of LPTs Step Up to Great Mental Health programme of improvement, we are working with stakeholders to improve the service we offer across our mental health services. You will contribute to this transformation of service organisation and delivery.

Main duties of the job
Your role will be to lead and continue to build on this established accessible and psychologically informed pathway, which promotes recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches for psychosis within the Directorate of Mental Health and across the wider healthcare system in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Working closely with senior managers, other pathway leads, and service users, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality systems of training, supervision and governance are in place to support and integrate the delivery of a stepped approach to psychological practice for psychosis across the Directorate of Mental Health community and inpatient services. Working alongside other lead professionals, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of an approach to audit and evaluate the pathway.
You will provide direct line management and leadership to the psychological staff (applied psychologists and psychological therapists) who work directly into this pathway. You will manage the delegated budget for psychology and psychological therapy in services where the pathway is the dominant framework, currently: our At Risk Mental State Service, Early Intervention for Psychosis Service (PIER) and Assertive Outreach. You will hold a clinical caseload and be based with one of these services according to service need at the time of your appointment.
