Job summary

We provide holistic and person-centred mental health services for people over 65 with functional and organic conditions and for people under 65 with cognitive impairment. The Community mental health team (CMHT) is a well-established multi-disciplinary team, consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. The teams provide face to face assessments and care for service users referred via the Central Access Point, In-patients, and Crises Teams. The key skills required for these roles include the ability to demonstrate excellent on-going assessment, risk assessment and problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills. You will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills and ability to support and develop the team in conjunction with the team lead

Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join in our Community mental health team as a Deputy Team Lead. We are looking for exceptional Band 6 who is able to demonstrate their clinical experience in managing different mental health conditions, commitment and leadership skills, motivation to improve patient experience and care and contribute to team building and staff development. You would be expected to manage a caseload of both functional and organic patients. The successful candidate will be able demonstrate the same core values as our organisation; Compassion, Respect, Trust, and Integrity in all aspects of their work .

  • Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months.
  • Hold an NMC approved mentoring qualification.

  • Post Registration Qualification.

Experience

  • Demonstrates motivation and commitment to providing high quality patient centre nursing care and patient education.
  • Experience in teaching and supervision.

  • To contribute to care quality performance and clinical activity by providing professional nursing leadership and guidance, clinical advice and management in relation to the key dimensions of health care quality:

  • o The effectiveness of all health care interventions
  • o Patient experience
  • o The environment in which care is delivered
  • To participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the ward team.
  • To actively contribute to the improvement of service and quality of care provision to meet the needs of clients/service users, service users and their families.
  • To act as role model, mentoring, teaching, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement and participate in the education, development and mentorship of other staff.
  • To work and collaborate with other senior nurses across LPT as appropriate and promote the role of their speciality nursing to all stakeholders.
