Job summary
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Community
Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS). CINSS was established in 2016
as part of the Better Care Together Initiative and strives to provide
specialist integrated care to patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and
Rutland. The team continues to rapidly evolve and there are exciting
opportunities to develop the service further, both clinically and
organisationally. The successful candidate will join a friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary
team.
This would be an ideal post if you are hoping to gain a broad experience
in neuropsychology and if you enjoy multi-disciplinary work. You will be
supervised and well-supported by the lead Clinical Psychologist within CINSS
and there are also strong, established links with the wider Neuropsychology
department and other psychology services, with many opportunities and support
for continuing professional and career development. There can be the option for
employment as a preceptorship with intended movement to band 8a once preceptorship
objectives are met.

Main duties of the job
The team provides patient-centred, goal-directed, specialist
neuro-rehabilitation in patients own homes, wider community and outpatient
settings for people with a wide range of neurological conditions, brain injury
and stroke. The CINSS Clinical Psychologists are an integral part of the team
and, together with our multi-disciplinary colleagues, we aim to help patients
to optimise their functioning and achieve their rehabilitation goals. The
clinical work includes direct work, joint work with MDT colleagues and
providing psychological consultation/advice. You will work with patients and
their families, completing neuropsychological assessments, developing
formulations, and implementing rehabilitation/therapeutic approaches to support
with a range of presenting difficulties, including challenges associated with
changes in cognition, behaviour, mood and psychological adjustment.
