Job summary

Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) have a vacancy for a permanent Band 6 Dietitian (0.5wte) to join our friendly, innovative public health team within Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 80 staff, made of dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers, community food workers and support team staff covering the population of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

The role of this post holder will be to work as a member of the multidisciplinary East Midland Tier 3 Complications from Excess Weight (CEW) service delivering a clinical obesity management service for the children and young people of Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside the already established 0.6wte band 7 CEW dietitian providing a clinical dietetic service for children, young people and their families with severe obesity including assessment, advice and treatment. You will also provide education and training and will liaise closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for an HCPC registered dietitian with experience or an interest in expanding their knowledge around Tier 3 childrens weight management. The successful candidate will have good leadership, communication and team working skills, who can also work independently.

The service is committed to CPD and personal development and we have good clinical supervision models and in-house CPD in place to support you. The service is involved in the pre-registration placements for student dietitians undertaking A, B and C placements, to which the post-holder will contribute.
