You will be joining a friendly, professional and experienced team of estates site leads and estates services technicians to support you on your apprenticeship journey, whilst being given dedicated time to complete your studies and apprenticeship. You will be working across all our sites, which include offices, mental health in-patient wards, clinics and other community settings. As you become more competent, you will be required to join the estates on call out-of-hours service.
You will be supported to complete a level 3 plumbing and domestic heating technician course over 48 months with a 6 month period for completion of your end point assessment. A valid UK driving license is essential as you will be required to drive a Trust fleet vehicle as part of your role.
On nearing completion of the apprenticeship, the postholder would be supported to apply for any suitable vacancies within the team but we cannot guarantee any vacancies at that time.
This apprenticeship will be paid as per annex 21 pay scheme of a band 4 role.
Main duties of the job
The main focus of the job will be completion of the level 3 plumbing and domestic heating technician apprenticeship, whilst gaining valuable experience across wider maintenance services to provide a comprehensive and responsive multiskilled maintenance service across all building trades. You will have a base but be expected to work at any site as required across the Trust's footprint.
The apprenticeship will be undertaken in collaboration with an approved training provider and includes both classroom sessions, as well as assessment within their workplace environment. Apprentices complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their learning and skills in practice in line with the apprenticeship standards.
Apprentice Plumbing & Heating pathway:Size and select, plan and install, service, maintain plumbing heating systems.All technicians will be required to work on typical plumbing elements such as hot and cold-water systems and storage, supplies to dwellings and associated pipework,above-ground pipework, connection to below-ground, sanitary pipework, fittings andfurniture. Appliances and equipment can include boilers, bathroom furniture, sanitaryappliances, drainage and rainwater systems
Non-domestic plumbing technician: installation and maintenance of plumbing systems in hospitals and healthcare premises.Both roles may work in both indoor and outdoor settings on a range of equipment, systems and building sites.
