Please note, candidates must be a qualified Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner. Significant and relevant Primary Care experience is essential to this post.

Main duties of the job

Oldham Living Well is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed qualified MHWP to join our supportive, highly successful and motivated team. For the role, you must have experience of working with people experiencing serious mental illness, providing CBT interventions for people with common mental health problems. Assessments and interventions will be delivered face to face at GP surgeries and as the Living Well service evolves, there may be a requirement to deliver interventions in groups.

About us

The Living Well team is multi-disciplinary, working with adults aged 18 and above. The team seeks to 'close the gap' for people whose needs cannot be met by primary care services, but who are deemed not complex enough to require support from specialist secondary mental health services.

Essential

  • Holds an IAPT approved PWP qualification

Desirable

  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
  • Psychology or other health related underdgraduate degree.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as a psychological wellbeing practitioner
  • Experience of routine outcome monitoring
  • Experience of working in the local community

Desirable

  • Evidence of working in the local community

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrated an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it presents in primary care
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issue surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health and employment
  • Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation

Desirable

  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
