We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist to join the Oldham Older Adult Clinical Psychology Service. The post is advertised at Band 8a; however, we welcome applications from applicants who are approaching qualification, newly qualified, or if you are interested in a preceptorship arrangement.
You would be part of a wider psychology network that is committed to supporting, empowering, and developing you as an individual. Main duties of the job
The role requires a qualified Clinical Psychologist who will have specialist skills for working with older people within secondary care services. You will work closely with service users and carers and with colleagues across the CMHT and the acute wards. Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for more detail.
The CMHTs provide community-based assessment and interventions for older people with a variety of mental health needs. They also have close links with the Acute In-patient services working with those who may transit between living at home and needing intense periods of support in a safe nurse led environment. Working alongside the Memory Assessment Service (MAS), the Intensive Home Treatment Service (IHTS), the Care Home Liaison Service and the Living Well Collaborative will also likely be an increasingly important part of the role. Clinical work within the team will include providing direct psychological and neuropsychological assessment and therapeutic interventions. In addition, you would support the delivery of psychologically informed care and care planning through case discussions, MDT meetings, supervision, training, and consultation.
