Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is an established provider of the national programme for Talking Therapies. NHS Talking Therapies provides stepped care evidenced-based treatment for people with mild to moderate common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to apply to join us as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). This is a 12 month fixed term training post and on successful completion of the training course, you will be able to apply for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner positions.

Interviews will be held between 2nd - 5th July 2024.

The start date will be early September 2024.

We have trainee positions available in the following services.

Stockport talking therapies,Tameside talking therapies, Bury talking therapies, Oldham talking therapies.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in primary mental health care at University of Manchester for the duration of their training course. You will attend university for part of the week and will be working within the service for the remaining time of the week in order to implement and develop their skills in clinical practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in evidence based low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for common mental health problems and to gain the accreditation you need to practice as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). Our PWPs have been known to progress on to the Trainee high intensity therapist/CBT course, so there is real scope for development and progression from this programme and within psychological therapies with Pennine Care.
