Job summary
The post-holder will be a member of the Trust's Facilities team and will provide a comprehensive cleaning service for Pennine care Foundation Trust (PCFT). The Facilities Assistant (Domestic-HMR) will work across the Trusts inpatient areas which will include working on wards, clinics or admin areas.
A vacancy has arisen for a Facilities assistant (Domestic - HMR) at Birch Hill Hospital The post is 25 hours working 5 days out of 7 will include weekend working on a rota basis. The hours for the post are 8-30 - 2.30.
Main duties of the job
The Facilities Assistant (Domestic - HMR) is responsible for carrying out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning standards alongside nursing, estates and other site-based teams. Cleaning duties will be carried out in all areas including clinical, sanitary and administration areas, in accordance with the cleaning schedule for each area

The Facilities assistant ( Domestic- HMR) is responsible for carrying out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning standards alongside nursing, estates and other site-based teams. Cleaning duties will be carried out in all areas including clinical , sanitary and administration areas, in accordance with the cleaning schedule for each area.
The Facilities Assistant (Domestic-HMR) must:
Carry out tasks in line with Trust policy, national cleaning standards and local instruction.
Ensure that infection control , COSHH and health & safety procedures are always followed including:
Colour coding
Segregation of waste into the appropriate coloured bag.
Observance of moving and handling guidelines
The wearing of correct PPE
The clear display of wet floor signs as required
Following the risk assessments and method statements
Following all COSHH instructions when using cleaning chemicals.
Report any occurrence that may prevent cleaning duties from being carried out to the Supervisor or Manager.
Follow the cleaning schedules that are provided for each area to ensure the areas achieve the required levels of cleanliness at all times.
Ensure that cleaning equipment and machinery is stored correctly and left in a clean condition and to report any defects to the supervisor.
