Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is excited to advertise a permanent role for a Band 7 Mental Health Liaison Clinical lead for Eating Disorders working with the Bury and Rochdale GM Mental Health liaison team. The introduction of this new role supports the wider development of the GM Liaison team into an all age service and to support patients with eating disorders and disordered eating.
The Clinical Lead will work alongside the two band 7 team leaders in providing a specialist role for assessing patients, educating staff from Mental health and acute settings, and developing new ways of working across the borough for patients with eating difficulties.
The Clinical Lead role promotes an improved access to evidence-based interventions for people with eating difficulties and mental health challenges admitted to the mental health wards and the medical wards in Bury and Rochdale.
Main duties of the job
o To ensure high quality mental health and eating disorder assessment of service users and families referred to the mental health liaison serviceo To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the service users problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy
o To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of service users with eating problems whose problemso To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual service users and to provide specialist advice to other professionals on aspects of risk assessment and management of eating disorderso Carry out clinical audits of service performance, including service user surveys and evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate the results for feedback, as required or directed.o To provide consultation and training on a wide range of service users emotional health, well-being and eating disorder issues to professionals, from a range of services including Adult Mental Health Services, Education Services and Northern Care alliance staff.
