To provide expert and proactive vaccination advice clinical leadership and support within PCFT to help facilitate the consistent delivery of the trust vaccination programme (Influenza, Covid-19, other nationally prescribed vaccinations) in line with national strategies, outcome frameworks and NICE guidance, through the development of trust-wide clinical protocols, agreements and clinical audit
Main duties of the job
Manage vaccine clinics with the support of the strategic vaccination group, ensure that all eventualities are planned for within local based clinics and the service offered is an efficient and person centred experience.
Support the locality delivery of vaccinations and support service improvement methodologies, evidence based practice and change management
Ensure all staff in the central vaccination clinics are inducted appropriately and support locality vaccination champions
Lead relevant operational and quality task groups to lead improvements for vaccine uptake.
To provide a co-ordinating role in maintaining relationships across clinical, professional, and non-clinical services to ensure the smooth delivery of the trust vaccination programme.
To deliver training in partnership with the trust clinical skills facilitators to ensure the vaccination workforce are provided with the correct skills and knowledge.
To maintain a register of vaccination champions and ensure there is a review of their skills, knowledge and the updating of this yearly in line with policy.
To review and oversee the delegated vaccination budget ensuring spending in line with parameters set out by finance and the Deputy Director of Nursing, Quality and AHP's/Director of Infection Prevention Control
To manage and implement the regular performance monitoring criteria for data collection and ensure adjustment are made as necessary
About us

To identify new opportunities for innovation within delivery of vaccinations to patients and staff ensuring robust evaluation. To convey complex and often sensitive information to audiences who may present hostility, using high level of communication skills to present clear rationale for reasons for change and build engagement with key stakeholders. To identify, report and work to mitigate clinical risks associated with vaccination. To provide a coordinating role in maintaining excellent working relationships across clinical, professional, and non-clinical services and staff for the smooth delivery of the trust vaccination programme. To work collaboratively with senior leaders and pharmacy to ensure vaccination champions understand the requirements set out within written instructions and patient group directions To deliver training in partnership with the trust clinical skills facilitators to ensure the vaccination workforce are provided with the correct skills and knowledge. To maintain a register of vaccination champions and ensure there is review of their skills, knowledge and the updating of this yearly in line with policy. To promote and encourage a culture of continuous quality improvement, standardising approaches where appropriate To provide clinical advice and support with a focus on improving pathways and processes, data collection and ensuring vaccination documentation and recording supports national drivers for health improvement and is supportive of relevant data collection To carry out clinical duties and deliver training in line with registered qualification, on an ad hoc basis, this will also contribute to the credibility of current practice knowledge of post holder. Ensure that PCFTs role in delivering the LTP targets is delivered, ensure data collection, analysis and reporting as required. Ensure operational services keep service users and carers at the centre and that vaccination services are inclusive and respectful and delivered in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act. On behalf of operational services ensure that there are systems and processes in place to ensure that all vaccination equipment is used, maintained and stored effectively in accordance with policy On behalf of operational services ensure that all vaccines are stored effectively in line with policy and that vaccination champions understand the requirements in this area when storing and moving vaccines. During the vaccination season to be flexible to deliver some planned evening and weekend clinics for night staff and weekend workers
