Job summary
Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity for:
Postgraduate Diploma in CBT:
CBT for Psychosis & Bipolar DisorderPathway
Delivered by: GMMH Psychological Therapies Training Centre
Commencing: November 2023 for two academic years part time (year 1 runs on a Thursday and year 2 runs on a Tuesday).
Suitable for: Mental health professionals with basic prior experience and knowledge of CBT, who have the generic skills to train either as a CBTp&b or CBTp therapist
Year 1: Foundation, Fundamental, Basic and Advanced Affective Disorders Units (runs on a Thursday).
1 day's training per week (a total of approx. 40) over an academic year made up of four x 15 credit units (2 taught, 2 supervised practice)
Content of curriculum is based on the core CBT competencies framework (Roth & Pilling, 2007).
Workshops include theoretical and skills development components, combining academic presentations, demonstrations and experiential exercises.
Includes weekly intensive small group video based training supervision delivered by highly experienced BABCP accredited CBT practitioners.
Year 2: Specialist Psychosis & Bipolar Disorder or Personality Difficulty Units
One day's training per week (a total of approx. 24 days) over 8 months made up of four x 15 credit Units (2 taught and 2 supervised practice).
The programme will be delivered in a blended format, including face to face teaching and online
Main duties of the job
You will be working within the Oldham Early Intervention Team who support people aged 14-65 years who are presenting with first episode Psychosis with future plans to develop an ARMS (At risk Mental State) pathway in the team. We are a Multi-professional team who offer a wide variety of support and interventions to those people developing Psychosis. Within this role you will be working alongside the Psychological therapists within the team whilst attending University part time.
