Job summary
Do you have a passion for improving the wellbeing of informal carers, often family members, of people with dementia? This role supports the Dementia Carers' Support Service (DCSS), that offers choice, education, and emotional support to carers across Cambridgeshire.
You'll work alongside mental health professionals and volunteers with lived experience who deliver one-to-one support and group sessions.
The post holder will be based in Ely and work with 3 part-time colleagues. Hours being within Tuesday- Thursday, 9-5. We are particularly looking for someone with secure IT skills who can aid the provision of the Volunteers work.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the Dementia Carer Support service to provide support and signposting for practical assistance for carers who informally support loved ones with dementia in the community.
The area included is as per Cambridgeshire County Council and the person cared for needs to be open to the trust at the point of referral with a dementia diagnosis.
The assistant will proactively coordinate the collection of information from volunteers, assist with communication between them and the health practitioners that supervise and recruit them.
They will assist with the onboarding process of both carers and volunteers and the organisation of service activities such as groups and 'caseloads'
