Job summary

Applicants will need to be (newly) qualified Mental health Nurses, Mental Health Occupational Therapists and Social Workers only.

An opportunity has arisen, for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to be part of our innovative and crucial service in Cambridge. You may be looking to move on from your first qualified post to a community role within the crisis resolution home treatment team.

We are looking for people who have a relevant NMC or HCPC registration and:

  • Relevant pre-registration experience of working in mental health environments, however this is not essential.
  • Previous experience and skills which can transfer into this role - good communication, organisational skills and timekeeping amongst others.
  • We welcome applications from people with lived-experience of mental health challenges.
  • People who are passionate about working with older people in the community experiencing mental health challenges.

Main duties of the job

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

The role involves (but is not limited to):

  • Providing support interventions for people with significant mental health conditions.
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team with colleagues in the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the use of prescribed medications.

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible but primarily based at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge. We will provide the support to ensure your development within your role. We provide a preceptorship programme and regular support and supervision.
