This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly enthusiastic and motivated Music Therapist who can place Service Users needs at the centre of their clinical work and who is interested in delivering a high standard of clinical Music Therapy sessions for Childrenwithin the Youth Music Project
This post is funded via CPFT Head to Toe Charity and will specifically support the Youth Music Project in Peterborough Children's Development Centre within the City Care Centre Peterborough and will be managed and clinically supervised within the CPFT Arts Therapies Service. The Arts Therapies Service includes Arts Therapists who innovatively promote recovery and resilience and take referrals for Service Users where a clear clinical need for nonverbal therapy is identified across all three localities Peterborough, Huntingdon and Cambridge. The Music Therapists within the Arts Therapies team are experienced and have a wealth of knowledge to share with the appointed Music Therapist working on the Youth Music Project in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for trailblazing Music Therapy work supporting Children within CPFTs Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and to excel in clinical excellence as a Music Therapist within a supportive Arts Therapies team
Main duties of the job
To participate in the delivery of Music Therapy under the guidance of a Specialist Arts Therapist and the Lead Arts Therapist by managing a caseload of clients.
To maintain professional standards in accordance with the relevant professional body BAMT and the professional regulator (Health and Care Professions Council).
To participate in audit, service evaluation and research activities when required.
To participate in the delivery of Music Therapy under the guidance of specialist band 7 Arts Therapist and the Lead Arts Therapist by managing a caseload of clients.
The post holder will demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills and have undertaken appropriate post registration training.
To be proficient in the assessment, identification, treatment and management of the emotional and psychological needs of the population requiring prolonged, in-depth concentration. This includes risk assessment, assessment of complex conditions.
To frequently communicate and receive highly complex sensitive information with people; who have experienced trauma/abuse /highly complex needs; their relatives/carers and other professionals.
To have the specialist knowledge / skill to apply psychodynamic formulations and theory to work with individuals, groups and organizations.
