Job summary
The Clinical Innovation Delivery Lead facilitates the delivery of the Trust Innovation Strategy and provides the principal point of contact between the Trust and innovators who wish to work in partnership to address unmet needs, and commercialise good ideas and improve patient outcomes. The post-holder will have overall responsibility for overseeing delivery of the Trust Innovation Strategy and transactional relationships between Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust and companies who wish to work with the Trust.
The post-holder will assist CPFT's vision become an exemplar site for innovation within the NHS, supporting creative and entrepreneurial staff to exploit their good ideas across the broad spectrum of innovation from simple service improvements, through to the commercial development of new devices to the benefit of our patients, staff and the organisation as a whole.
CPFT is the region's InSite (Clinical Entrepreneur Programme Innovation Site) and so the postholder will be responsible for leading InSite activities and championing CPFT innovation activity both regionally and nationally.
The post holder will be responsible ensuring key milestones are delivered and putting in place corrective action where appropriate. In addition, the post holder will lead the operational and contractual management of the relationships with industry partners, ensuring the Trust is meeting its obligations and benefiting as set out in the respective agreements.
Main duties of the job
- Lead responsibility for delivering the Trust Innovation Programme, working across several clinical disciplines in addition to Commercial, Finance, Commissioning, Communications and Information Management.
- Coaching front line staff and signposting to expertise, providing constructive feedback, and sharing skills and knowledge.
- Understand, refine, and clearly communicate our vision and core narrative.
- Provide strong leadership in developing Trust Innovation Plan ensuring CPFT remain ambitious and reflects all options for delivery.
- Identify solutions to problems and implement change where required.
- Take responsibility and lead on all approaches to the Trust from companies who wish to explore potential partnerships with the Trust.
- Act corporately as a senior role model and lead on specific Trust wide issues as required.
- Participate in a wide range of Trust forums in the formulation of strategic and operational plans and to ensure that the Innovation Strategy reflects organisational objectives.
- Contribute to the maintenance of productive collaborative working relationships with senior staff in the trust.
