Are you an experienced Neurological Physiotherapist? Do you want to make a difference to our patients with Parkinson's? CPFT are developing a new post to enhance our inspiring and innovative Community Parkinson's Disease Service. We are looking to employ an Advanced Practitioner, Specialist Parkinson's Disease Physiotherapist, to join the Neurological Conditions Team working with our Specialist Nurses working with patients with Parkinson's Disease.The post will cover the County of Cambridgeshire and the base will be negotiable.
You would work as part of a multidisciplinary community team providing high quality specialist assessment and rehabilitation to patients with a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, in their home environment and facilitating group exercise in a clinic setting.
You will work within a team of Parkinson's Disease Specialist Nurses alongside the Neighbourhood Team compiled of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants colleagues as well as with a range of specialist clinicians/consultants in the wider integrated and secondary care teams.
Main duties of the job
Please note this role requires independent travel around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.
This is an exciting new post to work seamlessly with patients across community care services within our region. The key aims and objectives of the service are listed below.
- To maintain a fair/equitable and timely waiting list (addressing and reduce Health Inequalities by ensuring that patients are having the right service, in the right place and at the right time).
- To improve patient and carer satisfaction.
- To improve functional outcomes of Parkinson's Disease patients
- To reduce the number of Parkinson's Disease patients admitted to hospital following a fall.
- To improve the therapy support to Parkinson's Disease patients at the point of diagnosis.
- To improve the therapy support to Parkinson's Disease patients in long term care facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times. The post is open to professionals with the right attributes to enhance a team and those with the appropriate clinical background to deliver specialist rehab programmes and develop new pathways of care.

- Responsibility for Policy/Service Development. Develops and lead the implementation of policy, clinical guidelines, protocols, and pathways that contribute to the safety and effectiveness of the Parkinsons Physiotherapy service in the context of national guidelines, research and recommended best practice.
