Consultant Neurologist & Clinical Lead for Neuro-Oncology (neurology)

Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of 6PA Consultant Neurologist at this major London teaching hospital which is also part of the academic health science partnership UCL Partners. Applications from both senior trainees and established consultants are welcome.

The post holder will be key member of the Brain Tumour Unit (BTU), a specialist service dedicated to delivering outstanding care for patients with suspected or confirmed brain or spinal tumours. Although brain and spinal tumours are relatively rare, their impact on patients and families is profound, and our work brings together a broad range of experts to provide the highest quality, compassionate care.

Based at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery you will join a team of specialist clinicians, clinical nurse specialists, and allied health professionals at the Trust. Together, we deliver a comprehensive service covering the full spectrum of primary and secondary Central Nervous System tumours, supported by the dedicated Brain Tumour Unit Office.

Candidates should have the ability to run and manage a complex Neuro-oncology clinic and be able to supervise trainees. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in managing brain tumour patients and pathways. Non-UK trained Consultants should be registered with the GMC and on the GMC Specialist Register by the date of interview.

Main duties of the job

Candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration; and either be already on the Specialist Register and have completed a formal fellowship Neurology at a recognised institution.

Candidates should have the ability to run and manage a complex Neuro-oncology clinic and be able to supervise trainees. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in managing brain/ CNS tumour patients and pathways. Non-UK trained Consultants should be registered with the GMC and on the GMC Specialist Register by the date of interview.
