Locum Consultant in Neurology (Neurorehabilitation)

Job summary

UCLH are seeking a Locum Consultant to join the Neurorehabilitation at Queen Square. The post holder will work within the Adult Neuro-disability Service and Adult Spasticity service delivering top quality outpatient and inpatient patient care in line with the UCLH trust values.

The post holder will be responsible for the continued running and development of the Queen Square Neuro-disability service which includes independent clinical assessment, treatment planning, MDT collaboration, and leadership in clinical governance.

The post holder will also be responsible for supporting a safe inpatient intrathecal baclofen service.

The post holder will work closely with therapy teams and specialist nurses, uphold UCLH values, engage in appraisal and safeguarding responsibilities, and support the Trust's commitment to equality, inclusion, research excellence, and sustainability

Main duties of the job

This post is for 6 PAs (24hrs a week) for a Consultant in Neurorehabilitation to deliver inpatient and outpatient care for our Neuro-disability and Spasticity patient cohort. There will be two clinics per week and inpatient ward round and day case responsibilities.

Essential

  • Eligible for full UK GMC Registration
  • Individuals should meet one of the following: -have their CCST and be on the specialist register; or -be within 6 months of their CCST; or -Locally Employed Doctors, Specialty Doctors, and Specialist Grades should submit their evidence portfolio to the GMC via the Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) in time for approval to be on the Specialist register within six months of appointment
  • MRCP (or equivalent)

  • Experience in assessing and treating patients with long term neurological disorders.
  • Experience in management of spasticity including intrathecal baclofen
