Senior (Post CCT) Clinical Fellow (ST8+)

Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of a Senior Clinical Fellow in UGI Surgery, for a fixed term period of 12 months starting in Spring 2026.

The UGI surgery unit at UCLH is a centralised unit for OG cancers in the North Central and North East Thames region. In addition to the surgery unit, there are strong and well established oncology and gastroenterology departments.

Main duties of the job

This post is intended to be a training clinical and leadership Fellowship for a Senior Upper GI post-CCT trainee with advanced OG and laparoscopic skills aiming for a career in OG cancer surgery. There is a sizeable volume of experience in benign and emergency OG surgery to be gained as well.

The post holder will be required to participate in the 1:4.5 consultant-level on-call Rota for OG surgery (likely to change to move to a 1 in 7 in-year). This is low-intensity and non-resident (apart from weekend ward rounds). No commitments will be expected for general surgery on-call.
