Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated staff member who would like the opportunity to work in a fast paced, positive, developing environment to join our front of house team as a receptionist.

The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional telephone manner and good customer care skills. The post holder should also be able to prioritise and work well as a member of a team, use your own initiative, maintaining accuracy with both verbal and written communication.

Main duties of the job

This role will be based at the Front of House reception desk at Westmoreland Street Hospital and will work as part of a rota to cover the desk from 8am to 8pm. They will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, staff and contractors both and will be welcoming, approachable and helpful.

The role covers a wide range of different tasks that are needed to support the different teams on site, for example arranging transport, couriers or taxi services as needed; managing the bleeps for the site; monitoring alarm panels; managing the keys and other security responsibilities for the site.

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, acquired through training and/or previous experience of working in an administrative environment.
  • Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification.
