We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled radiographer to join our rotational radiography team in Neuroradiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.This post is for a fixed term to provide cover for maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in cross-sectional imaging while working in a specialised hospital. We take pride in the patient care we provide and expect the successful candidate to adopt a patient-centred approach and communicate effectively. You will be part of a truly multidisciplinary team, collaborating with undergraduates, trainee radiologists, surgeons, and junior radiographers, so strong teaching skills are essential.
Our department offers a range of services, including interventional procedures, 3T and 1.5T MRI, CT, angiography, and plain film imaging. We are nearing the completion of an equipment replacement program, having recently installed a dual-energy CT scanner, four MRI scanners, and two angiography rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a new iMRI suite.
We provide a comprehensive cross-sectional training program to support radiographers looking to advance their MRI, CT, and interventional imaging skills. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is actively supported for all staff members.
Participation in extended working hours, weekends, and out-of-hours services is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Neuroradiology Department offers a service to Neurology, Neurosurgery and Stroke.
o The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality, patient care and safety high on their agenda with a flexible approach to working hours.o The post holder will liaise with the other modalities to ensure that room utilisation is maximised, prioritising patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality ensuring all data inputs on PACS and EHRS are accurately recorded to maintain integrity of data for both patients and the service.o To ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors to the Neuroradiology Departmento To ensure a high standard of patient care and participate in the monitoring of standardso The successful candidate will be expected to participate and lead in departmental and divisional activities such as Health and Safety, Audit, Research, Clinical Governance and investigation of adverse incidents and complaints.
