Senior Imaging Systems Administrator

Job summary

This is a specialised post supporting all existing Imaging IT Systems such as Carestream Philips Vue Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS), Hyland's Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA), embedded Radiology Information System (RIS) within our Electronic Health Record System (EHRS), Epic Radiant and teleradiology systems. The Trust has deployed the new Electronic Health Record Service (EHRS) Epic in March 2019, which has significant integration with the Imaging IT systems.

Main duties of the job

The post will bring a high level of IT and service related knowledge to bear on the support and development of the systems. They will have exposure to strategic planning and implementation for developments of the systems in conjunction with local IT teams and third party suppliers. The post holder will have a radiography/Imaging background.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 1st Level Degree, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of data protection act and issues relating to clinical data.

Desirable

  • Recognised IT qualification (eg IT based MSc) or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to identify the need for policy to support the operation of complex IT systems

Experience

  • Evidence of experience working in a clinical radiology environment
  • Experience of using RIS and PACS in a clinical setting

Desirable

  • Experience in use of a large multi-user relational database management system (RDBMS)
