Job summary

The Administration Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring the effective coordination and oversight of administrative services within the andrology specialty at UCLH. This post requires a proactive and solutions-focused leader who can respond effectively to issues as they arise within a fast-paced and evolving clinical environment. The role has a strong emphasis on ownership of patient pathways, particularly the active management of the Patient Tracking List (PTL) to mitigate the risk of 52- and 65-week RTT breaches.

Working closely with the clinical team, the post holder will provide operational leadership, foster a positive and accountable team culture, and ensure administrative processes support safe, timely, and high-quality patient care. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to service performance, theatre efficiency, and patient experience within a highly specialised setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the leadership and delivery of a responsive, high-quality administrative service, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly in a dynamic clinical environment. A key responsibility is the proactive management of the Patient Tracking List, taking ownership of RTT pathways to prevent potential 52- and 65-week breaches through effective monitoring, escalation, and coordination with clinical and managerial colleagues.

  • Expert knowledge of the full range of administrative procedures, acquired through degree or equivalent training and previous experience of working in an administrative environment
  • Knowledge and experience of information systems used for the storage and retrieval of sensitive personal information
