An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Headache and Facial Pain Service at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

The successful candidate will need to be well organised and reliable with excellent communication and inter-professional skills. You will also need to be flexible in working hours especially during nurse-led clinic days.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate who has a focus on maintaining and achieving high quality patient care throughout the patient pathway.

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is the United Kingdom's oldest and largest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital. We are part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and we are linked with University College London (UCL) Institute of Neurology, City and Southbank Universities. Together we are a major international centre for neuroscience training and research.

  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
  • Teaching/Assessment programme

Desirable

  • Relevant post-registration headache training programme
  • Relevant post-registration programme
  • Working towards or having completed the neuro-course (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Demonstrate relevant experience in same specialty at Band 6 or above (SO)*
