Fire Safety Awareness Trainer

Job summary

As the Fire Safety Awareness Trainer, you will be responsible for leading the practical skills training on fire safety agenda, ensuring all our staff are provided with training appropriate to their role. By enhancing the education offering within the Trust, you will make a valuable contribution to patient, staff and visitor experience and safety.

You will be an expert in the field of fire safety, and you will contribute significantly to the development of the our fire safety programme.

Main duties of the job

You will design and deliver a fire warden, fire evacuation and fire response teams education programme that supports patient and staff safety and experience.

Work collaboratively with clinical leads and department managers to equitably roll out fire safety practical skills training in clinical and non-clinical areas.

Provide professional fire safety training advice and support for staff in the workplace.

Identify and address opportunities for shared learning resulting from incidents and complaints.

Link with professional leads across London and nationally to develop fire safety awareness training.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or hold professional qualification in a fire safety related subject. EG; NEBOSH certificate in fire safety.
  • Adult teaching qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Fire Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) and the Health Technical Memorandum in Fire Safety.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of designing and delivering high quality, specialist practical skills fire safety training.
  • Experience of designing and delivering fire safety awareness training to healthcare professionals.

Skills and Abilities

  • Computer literate with good skills in office 365 packages (eg; PowerPoint and Word)
  • Ability to manage own workload and work as part of a wider team.
