Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecology

The closing date is 14 October 2025

Job summary

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellowship for the EASYCARE study of methylation testing for early diagnosis of endometrial cancer. The post-holder will be based in the Gynaecology Outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Unit, within the Elizabeth Garret Anderson Hospital of University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity within the nationally and internationally recognised tertiary referral centre and research unit for scan-based gynaecology.

This post is available from January 2025 (exact date TBC). Candidates who are on a deanery training programme will be required to seek agreement for Out Of Programme Research (OOPR) from their deanery prior to taking up the post.

N.B. Three additional research fellowships will be available for the EASYCARE study at the Royal Free Hospital sites. These posts will be advertised separately by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecology, you play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical research while contributing to patient care within the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit. You are responsible for identifying and recruiting patients to the EASYCARE study, obtaining informed consent, undertaking examinations and study procedures, and ensuring accurate and timely data collection. You work closely with consultants, research nurses, and multidisciplinary teams across UCLH and partner sites to maintain recruitment targets, manage study protocols, and uphold patient safety. The role requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, organisational ability, and strong communication to engage patients and colleagues effectively. You also contribute to academic outputs, including research meetings, publications, and collaborative projects, making this an excellent opportunity to develop both clinical and research expertise in women's health.
