Job summary

University College London Hospitals undertakes world-class research across many specialities including cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology, and early phase medicine. In this role you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will be an integral part of a team of clinical trial senior pharmacists who provide a high-quality dispensary and production service, thereby giving access to new, ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols. The postholder will demonstrate leadership, oversight, finance, risk assessment, audit, and inspection skills. A GPhC-registered, pharmacist with at least 2 years' post registration experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting would be well suited. Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of the UCLH clinical trials team to provide the pharmacy input and management of clinical trials across all sites in a manner consistent with Good Clinical Practice GCP requirements and other relevant guidelines

o Plan and participate in the risk assessment of clinical trials with respect to systems, patients, and staff at UCLHo Participate in clinical trial feasibility assessment meetings, to communicate feedback for our services for safety, capacity, and capability.o Support the day-to-day smooth running of the operational and dispensary functions of the pharmacy clinical trials team.o Support with the mentoring and development of the clinical trial technical team.o Monitor the progress of clinical trials in set up or undergoing amendment, and support or escalate as needed to maintain agreement timeframes.o Provide advice to the wider research community when appropriate and escalate to senior pharmacists when appropriate.o Participate in the management and development of the pharmacy clinical trial service at UCLH

Essential

  • Master's in pharmacy, and Pharmacist Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
