Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual to join the private patient referrals team in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary environment, and to support us in the delivery of a quality service throughout our hospital.

Reporting to the Referrals Team Leader, you will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating new patient enquiries to ULCH Private Healthcare, all whilst adhering to the highest standards of customer service. Please note, the postholder is expected to work fully onsite. The role is based at 7 Queen Square.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate significant experience in providing excellent customer service to patients with a professional, can-do attitude. They must have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and proactively. They must have excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Office, the ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of people and always demonstrate teamwork. They will have a working knowledge of healthcare data and terminology.

To be successful, the candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within clinical and non-clinical teams across the trust to ensure that the patient's journey is seamless as well as external stakeholders. The post holder will act as a point of contact for the Private Healthcare Division at UCLH, ensuring all enquiries are answered professionally and efficiently. They will act as a positive ambassador for the service, promoting and marketing the private service to patients and consultants.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within UCLH and have direct impact on patient care for Private Patients.

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of the full range of administrative procedures, acquired through training and previous experience of working in an administrative environment.
  • Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification.
