Nurse Consultant for Older People

Job summary

This is an exciting time to join an innovative trust that holds improving care of older people at the heart of its quality improvement agenda.We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Nurse Consultant with a proven track record to further enhance our clinical teams by providing expert clinical practice, professional leadership, education and service development across the organisation. You will have significant experience of working as a senior clinical leader with Older People, further enhancing the development and delivery of a first class, patient-focused nursing care service for Older People at UCLH.

Main duties of the job

You will have led on, delivered and implemented service changes to improve the care and nursing practice of Frail elderly patients. With the ability to demonstrate a clear vision, ambition and passion to deliver exceptional patient care you will have evidence of leading change through people. As a transformational leader you will inspire and motivate staff to further shape our Dementia Strategy.

The Nurse Consultant will develop educational and research programmes to support the post. The Nurse Consultant will have the authority and freedom to initiate and develop practice within a clinical governance framework. The post holder will work in clinical practice for a minimum of 50% of the time.Applicants must be educated at Masters level and either be working towards a Doctorate level or be willing to do so.You must have leadership skills that are capable of establishing direction and purpose and lead others within a complex organisational structureYou will be asked to undertake a presentation to key stakeholders followed by interviews for successful candidates.
