An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and focused individual to join the GI Services Division.
The role is responsible for the careful management of the surgical pathways. You will undertake a key role in a busy and demanding elective service, ensuring we deliver on a range of targets including theatre utilisation, RTT compliance and waiting list management.The ideal candidate will have a patient centred approach and experience of working within a busy NHS team, with values that are aligned with the Trust's core values.
The RTT Team Leader will actively manage the RTT and Validation processes attached to patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients, in order to deliver a high quality administration service, a positive patient experience, and excellent customer service.
The Validation team are responsible for ensuring that the timeline data for patients on the waiting lists (RTT and non RTT, Planned and open referrals) is accurate and appropriately reflects the patients' current position on the pathway.
This role requires liaison with colleagues across the Trust from all disciplines and supports excellent clinical service to the patients. The post holder will have a good working knowledge and understanding of the Trust's Patient Access Policy, the 18 week RTT National Standards & the national Cancer rules.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for overseeing a team of RTT Validators who are undertaking appropriate validation to ensure that the Referral to Treatment Time is accurately recorded.
You will work closely with your colleagues, with a view to providing a streamlined pathway for patients in the service. You will be the patient point of contact for the full pathway from referral to treatment. You will be located at 250 Euston Road and will be expected to a hybrid model (on site and at home).
You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a drive and energy to improve the patient experience. Knowledge of 18 week pathways, and previous admissions or pathway coordination experience would be advantageous.
You will work closely with your colleagues, with a view to providing a streamlined pathway for patients in the service. You will be the patient point of contact for the full pathway from referral to treatment. You will be located at 250 Euston Road and will be expected to a hybrid model (on site and at home).
Deal with stressful situations that may arise when dealing with patients who are anxious or distressed, or where there are barriers to understanding, using tact, diplomacy and empathy at all times and in line with Trust values.
Use developed communication skills in order to deal with patient concerns or complaints with empathy and understanding, finding a solution that assures the patient.
