Job summary
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team at University College Hospital (UCLH) at Band 7 level. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to provide care across both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a primary focus on consultant referrals.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering a high-quality, efficient, and effective pelvic health service. You will manage a varied caseload, working collaboratively with senior clinicians to assess, coordinate, and evaluate physiotherapy interventions in line with evidence-based practices and national guidelines.
We are looking for a team player with excellent manual therapy, communication, clinical reasoning, and rehabilitation skills. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy, with a strong focus on independent management of a urogynaecology caseload. You will be responsible for managing conditions such as bladder and bowel dysfunction, urinary incontinence, prolapse, perineal trauma, and dyspareunia. Experience in performing vaginal and rectal examinations is essential.
Main duties of the job
- Independently manage a diverse pelvic health caseload in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide high-quality physiotherapy care based on the latest evidence, in line with local and national guidelines.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a coordinated and effective service.
- Carry out vaginal and rectal examinations as part of your clinical assessments.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of best practices within the service.
Key Requirements:
- Full-time availability between 08:30 and 16:30 is preferred, though part-time hours will be considered.
- Six to twelve months of NHS experience in pelvic health physiotherapy is desirable.
- A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
- Previous musculoskeletal and pelvic health experience is essential.
- Experience in managing a urogynaecology caseload, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, prolapse, postpartum perineal trauma, and dyspareunia.
- Competency in performing vaginal and rectal examinations.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and manual therapy skills.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Excellent verbal, written, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a collaborative team.
