Endoscopy Administration Team Leader

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Endoscopy Team Leader to join the Gastrointestinal Medicine Team. We are looking for applicants with experience of leading a team and who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care.

As Team Leader you will provide leadership and operational support to the Endoscopy Service. You will be responsible for managing an administrative team who manage endoscopy diagnostic, therapeutic and surveillance bookings as well as patient queries, providing general support for the medical teams. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in cancer waiting times, DM01 performance an waiting list management.

We are looking for an individual who has proven experience of leading a team to ensure positive staff experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet the challenges of working to deadlines. A successful candidate will be a team player with expert knowledge of patient pathways and administrative procedures. They will be dedicated to delivering a positive patient experience, excellent customer service and effective support to the multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a patient centered approach and experience of working within a busy NHS team. They should be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Team management:

Supervise and support a team of Administration Assistants and Administration Coordinators to provide an effective, efficient and high-quality administrative service, with a focus on excellent customer service.

Responsible for monitoring team performance information, targets and quality measures, and embedding good working practices within the administrative team. This will include audit and monitoring of the following key performance indicators:

- Performance against national waiting times targets

- Service utilisation.

- Service accessibility

- Information governance

Service Improvement and Development:

Contribute to service improvement initiatives and change projects with the overall aim to ensure maximum utilisation of resources and excellent patient experience.

Review performance data, trends, and processes, and using analysis and judgement to identify and propose opportunities for development and improvement.
