Respiratory Clinical Nurse Navigator

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Nurse Navigator to join the team at UCLH. This is for 6-7 months to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative team member, with some respiratory experience. The role will require excellent communication skills. Please contact Lead Nurse for information in relation to the role. We would consider a secondment for internal applicants.

Main duties of the job

The role will include;

o Supporting patients through the National |optimal Lung Cancer Pathway (NOLCP) and lung screening programmeo Telephone pre-assessment service to ensure all patients are fir for procedure and to give guidanceo Deliver patient centred care by acting as a point of contact and keyworker for patients and GP's ensuring there is a community link with primary careo Support the Respiratory clinicians in the efficient co-ordination and organisation of diagnostic tests providing an important link between theatres, anaesthetics, and the Respiratory departmento Provide advice and refer on or signpost to other sources of support for patientso Deliver a weekly nurse-led telephone results clinic to patientso Participate in and support research and audit programmes/objectives for the Respiratory departmento Participate in a programme of self-development, clinical supervision and individual performance review (IPR)
