We are looking for a Senior Production Technician with these qualities, and a friendly outgoing personality, to join the production team at UCH Hospitals. In return you will gain extensive experience and training in a unit which produces doses prepared under Section 10 exemption and under a Specials Manufacturing Licence.

You will need to be a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Science Manufacturing Technician with post qualification experience in aseptic manufacture in hospital pharmacy.

Our busy aseptic service compounds TPN for adults ( 8000 pa ), and neonates , dispenses chemo drugs ( 50,000 pa ) and IV additives ( 12,000 pa ).

Main duties of the job

To assist and deputise for the Lead Production Technicians in the day to day delivery of the Aseptic Services from UCL Hospitals in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice and Nationally agreed standards. To assist in the aseptic training and assessment of new Technicians and Assistants and provide a high quality, safe service to our patients.

The role will include leading a small team in both of our units (chemo and PN/CIVAs), training a variety of staff and being a guardian of GMP.

  • NVQ Pharmacy services Level 3 plus an accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, Science manufacturing technician (SMT) qualification or equivalent
