Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and talented Assistant General Manager to join the Women's Health division at University College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a 12-month fixed term contract. This exciting new role in Gynaecology will be a crucial part of our senior management team.

The successful candidate will have strong operational management experience and will be expected to provide operational leadership for their department.

Candidates should have experience of working closely with multidisciplinary teams, leading service developments, data management and staff management. We are looking for a leader who can demonstrate effective communication skills, team working, excellent problem solving abilities and strong values based in line with the UCLH Trust value.

The assessment process will have two parts during week commencing 31 March including a stakeholder panel and a panel interview.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that services and efficiently and effectively run. This will be achieved through excellent human resource, financial and performance management, and leadership of change management to achieve improvement in process and patient outcomes.

Working closely with MDT leads, the post holder will lead on service improvement initiatives. They will have managerial and budgetary responsibility and provide leadership and management support to staff within their areas of management. The post holder will also be responsible for meeting Women's Health divisional objectives and the strategic corporate objectives of the organisation

They will deputise for the Deputy General Manager and General Manager in their absence.
