Job summary

You are invited to apply to a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST4+) posts in the Children and Young People's Endocrinology Department, available as 0.8 - 1.0 FTE or other less than full time equivalents. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to commence on 3rd March 2025, for 6 months, with the possibility of extension subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

The post holder will be expected to support the Children and Young People endocrine service; for inpatients, endocrine testing in day-care and outpatient clinics. This includes supporting endocrinology services as part of NHS England's Children and Young People's Gender Service (CYPGS), providing specialist gender related care and support for children and young people.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a friendly team to provide an excellent and comprehensive paediatric and adolescent service within UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are passionate about providing excellent clinical care alongside the best training and academic opportunities. You would join a highly motivated team at the cutting edge of both service development and academic research.

Clinical duties in paediatric endocrinology are always supported by a consultant and include:o Out-patient sessions in general and subspecialty endocrinologyo Out-patient sessions, meetings, and general support to the endocrine liaison adolescent gender incongruence/dysphoria serviceo In-patient management of elective and acute adolescent health, diabetes and endocrinology patientso Provide high quality care to Children and Young Peopleo Oversight of elective endocrine testing on the day unity for some tests where a doctor is requiredo As part of the team being responsible for the smooth running of the department, collation of results and communication with parents, young people and professionals.

The role can include an out of hours general paediatric commitment if interested. (ST4+ rota which is a 10 person full shift rota.)

You will benefit from innovative and high quality training, supervision and support for QI and educational initiatives, including simulation. You will need excellent communication, team working and clinical skills and lots of enthusiasm
