Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Switchboard Department. This is a demanding role where you take personal responsibility for dealing with hospital patients and staff. As a Switchboard Operator, you will cover multiple calls for all our Trust wide Hospital sites. Dealing with a multitude of Emergency calls, such as Fire Alarm Activations, Adult Cardiac Arrest calls, to name but a few.
Main duties of the job
The UCLH Switchboard also manages the on-site Emergency calls. These calls can be related to anything from a Fire Alarm Activation to a Cardiac Arrest call. Each Emergency call being as important as the other, all calls must be dealt with in a very short timeframe and in a precise manner.
The Switchboard Operators report directly to three Supervisors, who in turn report directly to the Operational Switchboard Manager. The Trust UCLH Switchboard provides support to the entire Trust network of Hospitals and provides important assistance in relation to Clinical Support. Some key initiatives for the department are:
o Bleep management and support to all Clinical areas.o Dealing with all internal emergency calls.o Dealing with incoming and outgoing calls daily.o Assisting in the administration of Internal Incident Cascades.o Management of the Trust I-message emergency system.o Management of the internal Super Directory.
