Job summary
Following funding approval by NHS England, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Trust (RNOH) will work with UCLH to implement an extension of our Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
The collaboration starts in September and RNOH will be able to utilise UCLH's expertise in designing, implementing, and using Epic since March 2019.
It is expected that Epic will be rolled out at RNOH in November 2025, replacing paper records and many of the current clinical systems at RNOH with a single, fully integrated clinical record. It means that staff can always access the complete, accurate and up-to-date information needed to ensure the best care for patients.
To help achieve delivery of this programme, we are looking for passionate individual to work as a the RNOH Connect Technical Manager within the DHCT Solutions section.
This role will manage the overall delivery of the technical aspects of the RNOH Connect programme. This includes understanding and designing all required technology for this specific Epic solution and ensuring a clear methodology is followed. The key aspect of the role is ensuring that the technology is delivered and meets the requirements captured from both Epic and RNOH. Ensuring that our technology partners are providing the right technologies in the right way will meet this requirement and providing governance to the satisfaction of the DHCT standards will ensure consistency.
Main duties of the job
To be successful you'll need to have previous experience of delivering the technical aspects of an Epic implementation, and to have a good general understanding of Digital Healthcare. You'll be conversant with current technical infrastructure including integration platforms. You'll be as familiar with writing design proposals as you are with explaining technical details to project teams and managing project planning and delivery.
Advantageous would be experience of working with a large outsourcing supplier, writing work packages for them and being able to challenge their high level designs.
If successful, you will be offered this exciting role as a fixed term NHS contract. You will receive your annual increments in line with Agenda for Change.
Roles are full time (37.5 hours) and arrangements can be made to ensure clinical staff can maintain their professional registration. For further information or an informal visit please contact:tony.ball@nhs.net
