The position will enable you to develop your skills in a variety of different specialities.Due to internal promotions we have a permanent vacancy within our Band 5 Team.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident individual. You should have the ability to work well within teams and be able to manage your time effectively. Applicants will possess BSc Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent) and be HCPC registered. Excellent communication skills and effective team working skills are essential.
This post provides a fantastic opportunity for an individual to develop a wide range of nutrition support skills with a varying mix of inpatients and outpatients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment whilst developing their clinical skills.
Main duties of the job
- To provide nutritional advice and support to patients through assessments on the ward, by telephone and written communication.
- To liaise closely with the relevant multi-disciplinary teams and attend relevant meetings, where possible.
- To assist in the production of evidence based resources, policies and guidelines.
- To provide ongoing training for ward staff with regards to the dietary management of patients requiring nutritional support.
- To undertake education and training sessions to patients, carers, nursing staff, catering staff, medical staff and other health professionals as required.
- To participate in dietetic audits
- To undertake professional development activities.
- To participate in training of Student Dietitians

We are a large friendly department providing high quality nutritional care to patients across all areas of our Trust. We have close links with universities - Kings College London, London Metropolitan University, and University College London. As a department we are involved in student training and take students on placement 2 and 3. We are committed to appraisal and continued professional development.
