Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join UCLH as Matron for Head and Neck, within the Surgical Specialties division. The Matron provides direct management and professional leadership for nursing teams. The Matron will lead, develop, and provide professional leadership to Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Ward/Departmental Sisters/Charge Nurses, within the division and will also provide leadership and work closely with the MDT across the H&N networks. The role also works closely with the other matrons in the division to provide clinical leadership.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic passionate nurse who can contribute to the ongoing implementation of the nursing and midwifery strategy, ensuring achievement of its objectives and proactively modernising nursing roles in accordance with the needs of patients. You will also proactively support the division to meet its over-arching aims around quality and safety, recovery, performance, efficiency, and financial stability.

The post holder will undertake the key functions of the Matron role, including providing highly visible clinical leadership, to ensure patient experience and safety in all clinical areas is always of the highest possible standard, with particular emphasis on dignity and compassion.
