Job summary

The Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospital (University College London Hospitals) is recruiting a specialist audiologist on a permanent basis for 37.5 hours per week and will be given flexible working options.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have regular exposure to highly specialised diagnostic procedures, assessing for both complex and non-complex auditory and vestibular disorders. They will regularly use state of the art diagnostic equipment including a TRV chair, VNG rotating chair, Equitest and CERA equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audiologist wanting to gain further quality experience in this renowned and forward thinking centre of excellence and gather further knowledge in the field of diagnostics.You will need a BSc in Audiology or BAAT parts 1&2, BTEC in MPPM qualification to apply. An MSc in Audiology would be preferable as well as voluntary registration with RCCP or HCPC. Previous diagnostics and vestibular experience would also be helpful.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • oBsc in Clinical Audiology/ Hearing Therapy or equivalent level of knowledge/ expertise in field. CAC or equivalent post graduate experience
  • oRegistered to practice as an Audiologist/ Clinical Scientist/ Hearing Therapist with either Health and care Professions Council (HCPC) or Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
  • oSignificant post-graduate experience in relevant clinical area
  • oEvidence of post graduate CPD
  • oApplied theoretical knowledge of the relevant assessment and therapeutic/ rehabilitative procedures for the management of audiological or vestibular conditions in adults.
  • oKnowledge of the impact of co-morbidities such as global delay or neurological conditions in the management of adults
