Job summary
The skills development co-ordinator role provides skills & professional development support to the SDN team and to a network of development leads across four professional groups. We are looking for a candidate who has an interest in pursing a career in learning and development, self-sufficient, good communicator, working with people and interested in data analysis and report writing.
The post holder is responsible for planning and implementing complex programmes and projects across 44 NHS organisations in the London area in order to implement the Skills Development strategy for Finance, Digital, Estate and Procurement. The post holder will help to increase the capacity and capability of the all these functions, and create a culture of staff development and continuous life-long learning.
The post holder will be expected to accept a wide degree of autonomy and flexibility within the remit of post, work independently and use their own judgement and initiative. Desired results will be defined for the role with the post holder deciding how they are achieved.
Co-ordination and facilitation of Skills Development initiatives and a project management approach will be required.
The post holder contributes to the development of strategy, policies and practices which impact on all NHS staff across the 44 organisations of the Region.
Main duties of the job
o The role will supervise a Band 4 events and communications co-ordinator.o The role will also support the Band 6 SDN project manager with conference organisation, liaison with stakeholders and day to day finance and procurement of services.o A key part of the role is supporting training and development activities for four professional groups.o The service has an action plan and services boards at regional and national level. The expectation will be to support the Head of London SDN with minute taking, producing papers for the boards, and generating reports.o A key part of the role will be to collect workforce data and ad hoc survey information, compile, analyse data and produce meaningful reports.o The post holder will be part of a team, expected to work on their own initiative and provide a professional service to key stakeholder.o The post holder must have an interest have an interest in learning and development.
