The RLHIM is a centre for evidence-based practice, education and research, specialising in chronic and complex medical conditions. Our mission is to provide a person-centred, holistic approach, including self-care, in order to help people with chronic and complex medical conditions live well and feel better. All RLHIM services are outpatient-based and are staffed by experienced healthcare professionals.
The Children's and Adolescent Service at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) requires an acupuncture practitioner, initially for two sessions (7.5h per week) to treat older children presenting with headache and / or chronic pain as their main complaint.
Main duties of the job
Essential Criteria:o Candidates must be qualified healthcare professionals with current registrationo Candidates must have:o Recognised training for Western Acupuncture (a minimum of the BMAS Foundation Course)o Membership of BMAS with relevant CPD.o A minimum of two years' experience in acupuncture practice in the UKo Professional experience in working with Children in healthcare, ideally within NHS serviceso Level 2 Safeguarding training
Desirable Criteria:o Professional experience in multidisciplinary team worko Audit and research experienceo Understanding of clinical governanceo Ability to recognise complex or challenging scenarios and seek help appropriatelyo Child Health related CPDo Level 3 Safeguarding training

- An HCPC or NMC recognised Master's Degree or equivalent.
- Post-graduate training in acupuncture with evidence of relevant work in a specialist clinical setting
- Evidence of recent CPD activity relevant to this position
- Registration with a Regulated Professional Body (NMC, GMC or HCPC).
- Membership of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) with a minimum of BMAS Foundation Course (membership of British Acupuncture Council BAcC would be additional)
