Job summary

The Transport Services Manager (TSM) is a dynamic and fulfilling role that operates across all Trust Sites and services. As the TSM you will lead 3 distinct teams that provides patient transport for patients nationally, our Pharmacy and CSSD delivery and distribution service, and our front of house interface between patients/visitors and our Patient Transport and Disabled Parking Services.

Patient Transport is a national service bringing eligible patients to and from their appointments, transfers and discharges home or between sites, to other hospitals or care providers within the UK.

You will lead on our logistics service which is responsible for ensuring that the products from our pharmacy distribution hub and our CSSD service are being delivered to Trust sites on a daily basis to ensure patient care is not compromised.

The TSM is also responsible for the front of house interface between our patients and visitors and the Transport and Disabled Parking service. You will lead a team of Patient Transport Liaison Officers that perform this role.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be an articulate and effective communicator, managing 3 distinct teams, and liaising with clinical, non-clinical teams and internal and external stakeholder on a daily basis.

High level of attention to detail and can motivate and encourage others to work collaboratively to deliver an excellent and safe patient experience. Have an understanding of the NHSE eligibility criteria and ensure that the Assessment Team are compliant with this.

Regularly review performance throughout the day/week/month and work with our contracted providers to mitigate and reduce any potential delays. Ensure that purchases and Invoices are managed in accordance with our Standing Financial Instructions.

Responsible for the logistics fleet to provide an uninterrupted service and contribute to Business Continuity Planning. Review and improve upon internal processes and procedures where appropriate. Ensure that complaints and Datixs are managed and compliant with the governance framework.

Responsible for the daily management and performance of the service.
