Job summary

University College London Hospitals (UCLH) NHS Trust is offering a rare and exciting opportunity for a part-time consultant to lead, develop and improve the RLHIM Integrated Cancer Care service and provide clinical outpatient services.

This long-established service provides an integrated approach for adult patients with cancer to be used alongside their conventional management to help support quality of life. Management approaches include lifestyle advice and self-care, acupuncture, homeopathy, Iscador (mistletoe extract) as well as psychological techniques and dietetics. We receive referrals from both primary and secondary care throughout England and work closely with UCLH and other oncology, palliative care and cancer surgery services.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from outstanding candidates on the Specialist Register who have a background in oncology and/or palliative care, experience in leading a multidisciplinary team and a strong commitment to service evaluation, improvement and development. They should have an understanding of, and open mindedness to, Integrated Medicine approaches commonly used by patients with cancer. Specific experience and training in these modalities would be an advantage.

Suitable applicants must be eligible for full UK GMC Registration, MCEM / MRCP (UK) / MRCS (or equivalent), on the GMC Specialist Register in their relevant specialty, or at the time of interview within six months of expected date of CCT.

NB:Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in their relevant specialty by the date of interview.
