Are you interested in joining an innovative, high profile and dynamic dietetic team of over 50 staff? We are seeking a self-motivated Band 6 Specialist Haemato-oncology Dietitian to join the Oncology & Haematology Dietetic Team at UCLH.
We are a large friendly department providing high quality nutritional care to patients across all areas of our Trust. We have close links with universities - King's College London, London Metropolitan University, and University College London. As a department we are involved in student training and take students on placement 2 and 3. We are committed to appraisal and continued professional development.
This is a new position within the department that provides at fantastic opportunity for a dietitian with existing experience and interest in haemato-oncology to further develop their knowledge and skills working alongside a supportive MDT in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Cancer services at UCLH are one of the key areas in which the Trust aims to compete with the best services in Europe; Clinical Haematology is considered one of UCLH's 'World Class' specialties due to its clinical service and translational research. The cancer division leads the strategic development of cancer services, and manages extensive cancer day care, ambulatory care, outpatient and inpatient facilities in oncology, haematology and head and neck services.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident individual with experience and knowledge of managing a varying caseload of adult haematology patients (lymphoma, leukaemia, myeloma, HSCT patients during all stages of the treatment pathway from diagnosis to palliative treatment) and adult oncology patients undergoing multi-modal therapy.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment whilst developing their clinical skills in the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care setting. You should have the ability to work well within teams and be able to manage your time effectively. Applicants will possess BSc Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent) and be HCPC registered. Excellent communication skills and effective team working skills are essential.
