Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior Sonographer to work in the Ultrasound Screening Unit and enhance the Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine services fixed term 12 months.
The applicant needs to be experienced in routine screening obstetric ultrasound and be able to perform independently 11-14 weeks nuchal screening, anomaly scan and fetal well-being scans.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will perform routine obstetric ultrasound examinations and will be responsible for providing one-to-one hands-on ultrasound training for junior ultrasound sonographers enrolled in the Training Programme in Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine. The aim for junior sonographers of said programme is to acquire competences in performing routine 11-14 weeks, anomaly scan and fetal well-being by the end of the first year, the Senior Sonographer will significantly contribute in training and teaching junior sonographers in achieving this goal.
The Senior Sonographer will take part in some components of the programme, which includes daily teaching sessions in the form of ultrasound and fetal medicine case discussions and an opportunity to further enhance your skills in Teaching and Research. A certificate of training will be provided to all successful trainees at the end of the sonographership.

- An upper second-class Bachelor's degree in a relevant science-based discipline, or a medical qualification (MBBS) from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard as determined by UCL. Applicants will be health care professionals with a primary graduation in the field of medicine or health science with the aim of developing academic and practical skills in obstetric ultrasound (for example obstetricians, radiologists, midwives, geneticists, basic scientists).
