An opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Theatre Store Person to work with our dynamic team based at University College Hospital London at Westmoreland Street.University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), situated in the West End of London is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. It provides first class acute and specialist services both locally and to patients from throughout the UK and Abroad. UCLH at Westmoreland Street, specialises in Urology and Thoracic surgery, and is a national centre for Robotic Prostatectomy.
Main duties of the job
The Theatre Store Person is a vital member of the multidisciplinary team and the post holder must have a genuine interest in, and understand of, the importance of monitoring levels of stock and sterile supplies, including surgical instruments. The post holder must also maintain a clean and tidy environment within the operating department and the departmental stock rooms. This is a key role within the team, and the post holder will be liaising with logistics and sterile services departments. A good level of computer literacy is required for this post, in order to access information, communicate by email, and complete electronic ordering and stockmanagement processes. Good communication skills are essential for this post.Delegated work and duties will be assigned by the Theatre Service Manager. This role will involve a degree of autonomy in organising your work, and it should be noted that some elements, such as unpacking and putting away stock, are physically demanding.Working within this very rewarding environment will enhance your own professional development and at UCLH we are committed to providing education opportunities for staff at every level.
